![]() Topic: GH stimulation test made levels FALL?!Posted: 07 Sep 2010 at 7:23pm |

We have finally got the results of DD's second hormone stimulation test. She "failed" the first nearly 2 years ago. Anyway, this time the pre-arginine results were only just below normal, at 11.9 I think, and yet the results after the drug was given dropped dramatically to 3.4. Has anyone else had anything like this? The consultant couldn't explain it at all and I think her highest result last time was 8 point something. However, he suspects her thyroid is implicated as the results for that were "borderline".
We've got to wait for an MRI now and see how she grows over the next 4 months, as she has just had (by her standards) a growth spurt which has made her just touch on the very bottom red bit of the growth scales! Her bone age is well ahead of her chronological age, too, which complicates things further.
We know no-one will have all the answers, but just wonder if we are the first to get a weird result like this? Height isn't the key issue for us, it's her delayed muscle development which makes it hard for her to do simple day to day tasks like flush the loo.
